Well, the poor old blog is being neglected.
I started back at work on Feb. 4th, 2013 and leading up to that date, and ever since, I've been too busy trying to keep my head above water.
Marking and maintaining three other class blogs, plus spending time with Emmett takes a lot out of a person. And I really don't do much compared to most working parents. I don't know how they do it and still enjoy a certain quality of life. It finally feels like a Rat Race.
During the recent chaos little Emmett had his first birthday and I feel really old (and judging by the picture below I'm also kind of demonic and scary). He's an awesome little man and we love him very much and I look forward to all the rest of his birthdays, with more kids, and craziness. Maybe Regan and I will even maintain our ambitious cake-making ritual where he does the rolling (baking) and I do the detail (decorating). Or maybe Dairy Queen will start getting our business. Who knows.
We love you Emmett and we hope you enjoyed your first birthday extravaganza!
