Emmett and Harvey participated in the local Shedden Fair Baby Contest. Sorry. "Baby Show", which I think sounds worse, for the record.
Anyhow, Emmett won a first place ribbon - and so did all of the other babies. Emmett also won for "most hair", but really he was very closely tied with many of the other infants. The spoils for showing up with a baby included a sippy cup, plate with toddler cutlery and a $10.00 gift card for Wal-Mart which I gave away to my mom.
Lindsay also insisted that she and I enter the "Skillet Throwing Contest" for ladies. Okay. She thought I'd be a shoe-in because I used to dominate shot putt in track and field in Elementary School. That was the only thing I "dominated" at. It turns out she was correct - I was indeed princess of the frying pans. For my efforts I got first pick at the pile of items from the dollar store. Yee-Haw! They even wanted me to pick ahead of the small children. I was gracious and let them pick first though. See I'm an adult now.
I'm an adult now, but I still picked out a very pretty pin-wheel because it is awesome.
*Also, we went into London on Saturday night to meet Alysia and Vivek at Palasad. Alysia treated us to dinner. It was most excellent, especially the dessert - caramel pancetta popcorn, mini raspberry cheesecakes in a shot glass and homemade donuts (see images below). Thank you Alysia and Vivek.
