There's a really great parenting/baby store in Orillia (just North of Barrie) and I just discovered that they do an awesome thing. They've created a cloth diaper bank and they donate cloth diapers to local (Simcoe County) families in need.
I'm sure there are other stores around that do this, but none in Barrie (there aren't even any boutique baby stores in Barrie anymore). I never even thought about this as something you could do with your old cloth diapers that maybe you can't sell or that you just want to get rid of.
What a great way to make cloth diapers even more environmentally friendly and to save a family a ton of money on diapers. Of course I realize that it's not as convenient to cloth diaper if you don't have access to laundry facilities in your home, but it's not impossible and for the money saved I'd think it'd be totally worth while.
