Once it was all pulled together I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They had their own unique vision, that's for sure, but that's what weddings are all about right?
They held the ceremony and reception in my other brother's large shop/garage and they dressed up like it was Halloween even though it was only Oct. 4th. The theme was masquerade ball/sort-of steam punk and the guests were encouraged to dress up if they wanted to. We did not but a lot of people did; some even donned their very best hunting attire and/or ripped jeans and t-shirts.
At times it felt like we were in a Stefon sketch from SNL: "this club has everything - steam punk, carriage rides, little person father/son DJ booth, mullets (plural), tramp stamp, b.y.o.b bar, an industrial deep fryer, top hats, a free-flying cockatiel during dinner, and rings in a cracker-jack box" - but we survived and so far he's still married.
I'll post some pictures below, if you'd like to see. It's how you do a wedding, Utopia-style.
